SOUTH AFRICA: Zwonaka Masks; [SOLD OUT]
SOUTH AFRICA: Zwonaka Masks; [SOLD OUT]
The Zwonaka Collection is a collection of handmade print masks & head scarfs from South Africa. Each are individually hand-stitched by Glory Rakhivhane in Johannesburg, South Africa. Glory is a single mother and supports her children by running a small business that designs African styled products. In the midst of the world still battling Covid-19, our campaign embraces the New Normal and our initiative revolves around global awareness through cultural design. In a climate of increasing protectionism and borders remain closed, collaborations across the world despite differing cultures and geography are boundless and possible. The word ‘Zwonaka’ is from the South African language, Venda and it means “it is beautiful”.
This is a social initiative and all profits are reinvested into masks for charity.
MASK SPECIFICATIONS:
Outer shell of the mask is made out of tight woven cotton (high count thread) with a crease resistant finish. Middle layer is spun bond fabric which serves as a filter. Lining is 100% cotton with a high count thread. These fabrics make the masks light and breathable whilst preventing droplets from escaping. Masks are designed in accordance to WHO-regulated mask health and safety standards.
PLEASE NOTE: EACH MASK IS UNIQUE AND PRINTS MIGHT DIFFER SLIGHTLY IN VARIATION.
